Friday Roundtable: Spring Training, The Arizona Legislature & More Border Woes

Posted By on Fri, Apr 2, 2010 at 5:33 PM

We run down the events of the week on Arizona Illustrated's Friday Roundtable. Watch it after the jump.

BTW: You're invited to an Arizona Public Media one-hour special on the sales-tax initiative at the UA Stevie Eller Dance Studio on Sunday, April 11. Arizona Illustrated anchor Bill Buckmaster will be moderating the forum and Linda Valdez and your humble Range correspondent will be asking a few questions of panelists to be named later. Details after the jump.

A live debate of Arizona's Proposition 100 — the proposed temporary statewide sales tax designed to make up for gaps in the state budget — will include a panel of media and representatives from the "Yes on 100" and "Ax the Tax" campaigns.

"Arizona Sales Tax: Fix or Folly" will broadcast live from the Stevie Eller Dance Theater, 1713 E. University Blvd., on PBS World Sunday night April 11 at 6:30 p.m. (PBS World is broadcast on digital channel 27.3, Cox 83 and Comcast 203.) The debate will also stream live on Arizona Public Media On Demand website at http://ondemand.azpm.org/live Questions from the public are welcomed and encouraged at the event, and can be submitted in advance through e-mail at questions@AZpublicmedia.org and the Arizona Public Media Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/azpublicmedia Doors open for the event at 5:30 p.m. and the live debate begins at 6:30 p.m.

Arizona Illustrated host Bill Buckmaster will moderate the event. Confirmed media panelists for the live debate include Jim Nintzel from the Tucson Weekly and Linda Valdez of the Arizona Republic.

Seating is limited and is on a first come, first seated basis. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and a call for questions will be held before the program begins. Questions will also be taken live from the audience during the event.
