What's Up This Weekend?

Posted By on Fri, May 1, 2009 at 4:04 PM

Our weekend recommendations:

Calexico is making one of those semi-annual appearances at the Rialto Theatre on Saturday night. They will rock the house, but you'll also want to see the mambo voodoo that is Sergio Mendoza Y La Orkestra. ¡Ay, Caramba!

It's the very best of First Friday Shorts at the Loft Cinema, as the winners of the last 12 months go head-to-head in a showdown of the best shorts by local filmmakers. Plus: pizza, beer and Max Cannon. Roll ’em!

More adventure: Dave Irwin has details on the Folk Fest, Steve Seigel has the scoop on the HOG Rally, and Margaret Regan recommends the work of Linda Conner at Center for Creative Photography.
