Some Late-Breaking Events

Here are a few events that were received too late for inclusion in our print issue.

  • Saturday, Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    Vista Park, Bisbee

    Garden Tour. The seventh annual Bisbee Bloomers' Garden Tour will take place. Tickets may be purchased for $10 at the Bisbee Visitor's Center, the Farmers' Market or the gazebo in the north end of Vista Park on the day of the tour. Call (520) 432-3554 or visit www.discoverbisbee.com for info.

  • Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 5:30 p.m.

    Reid Park

    Country Club Road between Broadway Boulevard and 22nd Street

    Freedom Walk and Concert. A free freedom walk and concert will pay tribute to the victims of Sept. 11. Pre-register at www.operationhomefront.net/arizona. On-site registration begins at 5:30 p.m. The walk will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be within the border of the park. A Tucson Pops Orchestra patriotic concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the DeMeister performance center.

  • Tuesday, Sept. 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

    Armitage at La Encantada

  • Tuesday, Sept. 11 from 7 to 9 p.m.

    La Paloma Academy

    8140 E. Golf Links Road

    Heroes Night. Students from the school will honor Tucson's heroes, representatives from the Red Cross, Tucson Fire Department, Tucson Police Department and military personnel. Activities include a presentation of colors by Davis Monthan honor guards, a presentation from Maj. Sven Olson, dedication of gifts to local heroes and reading of student essays. Call 882-6262 for info.
