Predatory Lending Is Bad

Posted By on Fri, May 11, 2007 at 10:21 AM

A bunch o' good organizations—you can get the whole list at StoptheSharks.com—are banding together for a community forum from 1:30 to 5 p.m. next Wednesday, May 16, at Temple Emanu-El, 225 N. Country Club Road. The goal of the community forum, according to the Web site?

Come to our Tucson workshop to learn about our community's vulnerabilty and discuss what we can do to end shoddy lending practices in Arizona. Consumers can best protect themselves by becoming more informed.

Join us for the discussion, on May 16, on how predatory lending is degrading our state.

"Half the states safeguard their citizens from the predatory practices of  unscrupulous lenders, but not Arizona. Let's work together to change that."

Predatory lending can happen to anyone. We'll hear from people who have been directly affected.

Avoid high fee loans, payday loans with excessive rates and prepayment penalties. Learn alternatives and strategies that are currently being implemented to combat lenders.
