Live Theatre Workshop presents “Ship” by Douglas Wiliams — a play about a woman named Nell as she navigates adult life post rehab. Signs of Community

Jorge Ruiz is a former architect based in Tucson who now dedicates his time to creating miniatures. His artwork focuses on depicting the sights of his hometown in Nogales — old-fashioned buildings and structures. “Signs of Community” is Ruiz’ first museum exhibition.

Día de los Muertos Exhibit

Tohono Chul Botanical Gardens will be presenting its Dia de los Muertos Exhibit starting in late August through early November. The display will feature pieces from artists that reflect both traditional and contemporary celebrations of the holiday that have become ingrained in Tucson’s history and cultural heritage. On Aug. 26 and Aug. 28, the exhibit will be accompanied by a Curator Talk with director of arts James Schaub.

Team Trivia of Tucson

Catalina Brewing Co. hosts its trivia event on Friday nights throughout the year. Patrons form teams to compete against one another for $10-$20 gift cards, answering questions about Tucson’s history and culture. Summer Concert Series

The Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance hosted its Summer Concert series from the beginning of June through the end of August. The Desert Museum Family Band will be performing the last show of the series on Aug. 30. Salsa, Tequila & Taco Challenge

The Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance will be celebrating Labor Day Weekend by hosting a competition for the community’s top mixologists and chefs.
