People, John McCain just wants to make your lives easier.

First, he’s going after TV providers by crusading for you to have a la carte cable programming.

His new mission: Making it so you don’t have to mess with the f—king App Store to update things on your iPhone.

For clarity’s sake, McCain was finishing his line of questioning to Apple CEO Tim Cook regarding Apple’s fairly brilliant (and legal) tax avoidance and offshore cash storage practices, before throwing in a dig at Apple — or opening up an opportunity for hundreds of people to mock him for being old.

  1. Lol, get an android phone, check the auto update box. DONE! No senate sub-committees needed.

  2. Apple seems to have done precisely what Romney did with his taxes… Take advantage of every loophole he could to maximize his income at the expense of those who lacked the loopholes… Just another thing our grandchildren will have to pay for… So much for family values!

  3. @lair bear: Apple paid $6 billion in US corporate tax in 2012, ranking it #1 of all companies based in the US.

    You want a scapegoat?

Try General Electric, which paid zero corporate tax.

  4. Apple was slammed by Congress for following the tax code that Congress wrote. Go figure.

If Mc Cain can help kill the bundle scam. God bless him. If I want HBO or Showtime. I have to get all the sports coverage I do not watch. Shame.

  5. I am glad he is finally addressing the issues that really matter. #1stWorldProblems
