My money isn’t tied up with Bank of America thankfully, but it’s crap like this, corporate banking world, that’s causing people to camp out on Wall Street. “Thanks for floating us with your taxes after we made all those stupid decisions, now let’s pay America back by screwing you when you want to actually have access to your money!”:
Bank of America Corp. plans to charge a $5 monthly fee for its debit-card users, joining a number of other banks that are pressing their customers to help recover lost revenue from new regulations.
The largest U.S. bank by assets, Bank of America on Thursday said it will begin charging many of its nationwide checking account customers $5 each billing cycle they use their debit card to make a purchase. The fee, set to kick in early next year, will apply to its standard accounts but won’t apply to most of its premium accounts targeted at mass-affluent customers. The fee also will not be triggered by transactions made at automated teller machines.
The fee won’t apply to customers in certain premium accounts.
Bank of America and other debit-card issuers, including J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., Wells Fargo & Co. and Regions Financial Corp., are trying to offset an estimated $6.6 billion annual revenue hit stemming from new limits on so-called debit-card swipe fees.
“The fee won’t apply to customers in certain premium accounts.” Of course they won’t.

Just another example of class warfare being waged from the top down…
Everyone knows that Bank of America is owned by the Chinese and rich a*holes who pay no taxes and pay themselves 5+ million in bonuses (so called Job-Creators HA).
They are also the single largest land owner in Arizona thanks to the foreclosure crises (they want you to think it’s caused by poor people)
It is so messed up I can’t believe ANYONE banks with them anymore.
Go local.
The bank is run by a bunch of morons, always has been (at least since the old man passed away). Go to your credit union.
“Tax corporate america” translates into “tax the hardworking people”
Canyon Bank for me. Have been there for 3 years now and have no regrets. They treat you like a customer, not a robot with a bar code across your forehead, and they don’t fee you to death for every little thing. Just my .02 cents.
I have banked with US Bank for 3 years, they have the best customer service and treat you like a person not an account! Love them
Nobody had better disagree with RJFletcher or you will be subjected to a barrage of filthy and unfounded insults.
For a national bank, US Bank is fantastic, I have to agree. However, they do charge $0.25 per debit card transaction. I’m curious how they will plan to “recover” the loss of this revenue. If they go the way Bank of America, I will switch to a local credit union.
Who are you, the guy in the pic?!? LOL When the only disagreement offered is a regurgitation of the latest Fox News buzzphrase defending the rich’s right to pillage the bottom 99%, such insults are hardly unfounded. Grow some extra skin and move along, because filth is the least of your worries.
To my superhero Matthew: Thanks so much for protecting me against that
horrible , horrible man(RJ Fletcher). Continue surfing the Web and protecting

RJFletcher, STFU!!!! You’re just a troll. If you were a bit smarter you would see that what Streeter said is that whenever the big businesses (i.e. the rich) get slapped with regulations intended to protect the working class they always find a way to make it roll downhill and the working class still gets screwed anyway. Sounds to me like an expression of her frustration, not at all defending the rich. Your insults are downright rude and inappropriate, and do nothing to bolster your comments; they just expose your lack of intelligence.
Eventually all of the banks will do this. B of A is the biggest bank and it’s easy to hate and be racist because they kick us where it counts, our wallets. B of A has always been good to me. I use the shit out of my debit card and would $5 per transaction hurt me enough to make me want to change banks. I think I’ll learn how to use cash again. Am I dumb? probably. How many of you out there use the internet to pay bills?? I write a check once a month and I will probably see my kid graduate from high school before I use all the checks in my box. Is it more trouble to move EVERYTHING from one bank to another or is it going to control spending by going to the atm? I was pissed too but there are worse things.
Its about time the American public (Not the Rich) started sticking together buy pulling there money out of these banks protesting their BS. It is us the average citizen/Tax payer that bailed these establishments out and yet its us the average citizen who they screw. So lets all stick together and put them in a position where they cannot screw us. As all of us know or should know its the people who we vote for who should be on our side, well they are when they need us and our votes after that we are on our own so why don’t we put them on there own.
I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.
Thomas Jefferson
So if regulation causes the rich to screw the poor, then explain the sociopolitical results of the last 30 years without it to all of us. By your logic, there should be plentiful employment and a healthy economy. You might be a U of A southpaw, but your education’s obviously been wasted thus far if your comments accurately reflect your level of awareness. The world isn’t modeled on your Econ 101 class and you can call me whatever you like, but my comments are based not only in intelligence but real-world observation and experience.
