In a previous blog message, I said that In-n-Out Burger was tentatively going to open on April 19.
That, my burger loving buddies, is not going to happen..
However, I just called again and now they are saying tentatively on April 24, 25 or 26.
So stay tuned to the blog for updated I-n-O alerts.
This article appears in Apr 12-18, 2007.

My In-N-Out burger visits have been limited to California, but have yielded tasty feasts each time. I’m looking forward to our newest addition.
Totally overrated.

Oh, boy! Another overrated crap-food chain comes to town! Krispy Kreme worked out so well, and now this. All I can think of is Alex in “A Clockwork Orange” expressing pleasure over “the old in-out, in-out,” but I believe he meant something involving wieners, not burgers.
Aw, come on, James. In-n-Out burgers are tasty. Not as tasty as Fatburger, but they’re tasty.
White Castle, wake me when there’s a White Castle.
In-n-Out Burger is listed in wikipedia. Their secret menu is listed also.
Given that In-n-Out Burger is a small chain compared to say McD or Burger King and is only in 3 states (Calif, AZ, and Nevada) it has a cult following.
And it’s still family owned which is really something considering most of the family has died off.
If you’re not familar with In-n-Out, catch up… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In-N-Out_Burger_secret_menu
Karyn, did you mean ketchup? HA HA SNORT never mind. I still want a Fatburger, dammit.
Don’t forget all the secret bible verses scattered randomly through their wrappings! (Creeeeeeeepy, if you ask me, and I’m a Christian.)
In-n-Out is primarily popular because you can get one of their bumper stickers, black out the B and R with a sharpie, and proclaim “IN-N-OUT _URGE_” on your car. Whee.
Their burgers are tasty as long as you eat one every few months. More frequent than that, and you start getting sick of ’em.
I was by the location today, and the manager toldme they will open this Tuesday, 4/24! Jimmy: Fatburger IS great, but where would you rank it compared to the 4 other great LA burgers: Tommy’s, Carny’s, Apple Pan, and Pink’s?
Ken: I have to plead ignorance here. I am not from L.A., so I am not familiar with the others. My experience with In-n-Out and Fatburger come from my stint in Las Vegas.
Ken:
I’m from L.A. and the best burger I ever remember eating was at Buffalo Chips in Santa Monica. It was next to the Oar House which I’m sure both are long gone. People rave about the Apple Pan but it has some weird odor which I can’t get past (maybe grease) and Pink’s is great but for hot dogs.
A few years ago I was back in L.A. with a Tucson friend in tow and we stood in line for an hour at Pink’s because she wanted to try it. People are nuts in L.A. to stand in line for a hot dog. The line wasn’t even that long and it took an hour. The hot dog was good but not that good.
I used to like the cheeseburgers at Pann’s in Westchester but then they either had a fire or remodeled and nothing tasted that good after that and then I moved away but I had some good times there.
