I’ve heard in a few places that Rep. Raul Grijalva indicated buses with immigrant children were scheduled to arrive in Oracle Tuesday but that they wouldn’t arrive. I called Grijalva’s office. Someone in the office confirmed that Grijalva received a one line message from Health and Human Services saying no buses would arrive in Oracle Tuesday, but it did not say the buses were previously scheduled.
Here are the first two paragraphs in the story on the KPHO News site:
A U.S. Representative from southern Arizona said he’s been informed that buses bringing about 60 illegal immigrant children will not arrive in Oracle as previously scheduled Tuesday.
Rep. Raul Grijalva, a Democrat from Tucson, said his office received a one-line email from Health and Human Services saying the buses won’t arrive Tuesday. [boldface added for emphasis]
The phrase “as previously scheduled Tuesday” is tacked on to the end of the first sentence. I suppose it could be argued that the words aren’t directly attributed to Grijalva in the sentence, that they could have been added by the reporter for elaboration, but the sentence leaves the impression those words came from Grijalva.
That means, according to what I have read, the only person who claims to have inside information about buses coming to Oracle is Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu.

And Babeu told inquiring reporters at the scene on Tuesday during one of his several “impromptu” news conferences that he received word from two “whistleblowers” in the U.S. Immigrantion and Custom Enforcement (ICE) that the children were scheduled to arrive today. No way for ICE to confirm that. It’s clear this was an event Mr. Babeu created to get camera time and to make his political base feel good about him. Another politician who truly puts the “AZ” in “crazy”.

Whatcha did might not be illegal, but what kind of public safety chief would want to fan the flames of malevolence? Good grief!
Babeau is such a media whore like Joe A.! He did a great job of wasting tax payer money on Tuesday.
I’m sure he didn’t wast as much as media whore obama. Didn’t want to go to the border to see the mess he created by not letting the border patrol send them back as soon as they got here. That would have mad a better photo than drinking beer and playing pool. At least it would have looked like he was working.
BP can’t send them back immediately because that would be against the law – they’re from a non-contiguous country. That said, they should be sent back as soon as they receive a hearing, as required by law. And Obama has stated that they will.
No asylum. There may be poverty and crime in their home country, but if poverty and crime were conditions of asylum, about 6 billion people would qualify.
