Tucson City Councilman Steve Kozachik stopped by the Republican fiesta and took a moment with The Range to comment on Prop 400.
Kozachik, the lone Republican on the City Council (not counting Mayor Bob Walkup), says the no vote “says, ‘We don’t trust you with our money.'”
“We just had the Rio Nuevo audit. The mayor says there was no fiscal mismanagement,” but the audit shows there was, the Koz says. Letcher says “to look forward, but the taxpayers want to know what happened with over $2 million.”

Good insight, seems to me. Thanks for asking him, Mari.
Steve Kozachik is probably the least-partisan politician I’ve ever met (the title for “most partisan” goes to Jesse Kelly, hands down). I get the feeling he wouldn’t have an (R) or a (D) next to his name if he could help it, and I admire him for that. It’s too bad being a results-minded advocate for a balanced budget and fair legislation is basically anathema to his own party.
