On last night’s AZ Illustrated Politics: Arizona Education Network President Ann-Eve Pedersen, National Committeeman Bruce Ash, Pima County Democratic Party Chairman Don Jorgensen and Inside Tucson Business editor Mark Evans talked about the EPA’s concerns about the Rosemont Mine; the National Republican Congressional Committee’s plan to take back the three competitive congressional seats in Arizona by running a campaign centered around Obamacare; the U.S. Senate Democrats’ decision to invoke the nuclear option on the filibuster of judges and White House appointees; and the challenges facing TUSD.

  1. As usual, Jim did a fine job as moderator and the topics were timely. Ann-Eve Pedersen made it clear, once again, that the Arizona Education Network (union) is an operative arm of the Democratic Party. Small wonder the state’s education is in shambles with her and others like her in the game.

Both Jorgensen and Pedersen were quick to write the epitaph of the Rosemont Mine. This complies with orders from our dictator in chief – Obama – to stop any opportunity for economic recovery. Ann-Eve is truly uneducated in what makes economies work and where the funding for her liberal union comes from. She is an embarrassment to the profession.

  2. Democrats now know they’re going to lose the Senate in 2014, and they want to do as much damage as they can before that happens.

  3. The Arizona Education Network and the state’s Democratic Party share a concern for the adequate education of our young people for life in the 21st century, together with a belief that the public schools, from kindergarten through university graduate schools, are the institutions in which most of Arizona’s students are going to be educated. Somehow our recent legislatures, with heavy Republican majorities, and our largely self-educated Governor, have not seen fit to protect and strengthen the investment made over many decades in public education. Indeed, they have done the opposite, cutting billions from state spending for education.

  4. Ane Eve was fabulous and even gracious as Bruce Ash kept interrupting her. By the way, when Bruce Ash turns and you can see his profile, there is a stunning resemblance to Pinocchio.
