Best Café For Coffee

Coffee, Etc.
Three Locations

READERS' PICK: Any one of Coffee, Etc.'s three locations offers a home-away-from-home atmosphere any time you'd care to drop in. And the beans are boffo. With every kind of caffeination imaginable, from fruity-flavored sissy drinks to deep, rich, old-fashioned joe in a plain white cup, this is definitely the most savory place in town to look your insomnia straight in the eyes and say, "Let's party!" A few delicious sandwiches and baked treats later, and you'll be properly fueled well into the next millennium.

READERS' POLL RUNNER-UP: Cuppuccinos Coffee House, 3400 E. Speedway

AREAL SCREAM: Recently expanded and renovated, Café Paraiso, 800 E. University Blvd., is a quaint university-area café that serves up some of the best darn coffee (remember, coffee) anywhere. Options range from the reliably hearty house blend to an ever-changing variety of more wildly flavored brews. Oh sure, they do all that other stuff too--double half-whipped this, and single full-foamed that (not to mention some mighty fine sandwiches)--but for those proud few who just want a simple cup of coffee, dammit!, you'd be hard pressed to find one better.
