Best Performance By A Visiting Dance Company

We Set Out Early/ Visibility Was Poor
Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company

READERS' PICK: The dance/theatre piece by the internationally known Jones company was an austere, abstract work, a millennial tour through the 20th century that was not always easy to grasp. But ultimately, it was a thing of moving beauty. Danced by the superlative members of Jones' own troupe, the piece traveled through time by means of the music of first Stravinsky, then John Cage and finally Peteris Vasks, a contemporary Latvian.
