STAFF PICK: Tucked beneath the Plaza Pub--a staid brass-and-mirror
type joint where businessmen duck in for deal-clinching martinis--lurks
the Airport Lounge, the newest watering hole for downtown
lounge lizards and other creatures of the night. Windowless and
low-ceilinged, the pleasantly cave-like Lounge brings to mind
the demented basement rec-room of a preternaturally hip grandmother.
The live music here is eclectic and features some of the best
local and out-of-town bands; the cover price is always low, and
the bartenders are fabulously stylish. Be cool, be seen, have
a drink.
