Best Salad Bar

Sweet Tomatoes
6202 E. Broadway
4420 N. Stone Ave.

READERS' PICK: Salad, salad, salad! Say it five times fast and it makes no sense. Salad bars do make sense, though, because you can graze endlessly. We Americans like our salad components in a large trough from which we can mix and match and create humongous heaping plates of salad madness, all in the name of health consciousness. Sweet Tomatoes has a double-sided, monster salad bar, fresh vegetables aplenty, a couple of mixed salads including a decent Caesar, and a variety of deli salads with beans and pasta and whatnot. They raised prices recently to adjust for the upcoming increase in the minimum wage; but with all the salad, soup, pasta, fruit, and bread you can eat, it's still a great place to roughage it.

READERS' POLL RUNNER-UP: Souper Salad, 6121 E. Broadway; and 4490 N. First Ave.
