Best Grocery-Store Fried Chicken

Albertson's
Five Locations

STAFF PICK: Ah, grocery store fried chicken. Heavily battered and coated, overly spicy and salty, kept warm under a heating lamp. Wow, all that and it's still only around four bucks. We prefer Albertson's for a handful of reasons: For starters, it's finger-lickin' good; and, if you go in around deli closing time, they'll almost always give you twice as many wings, breasts or drumsticks as you pay for; plus, they never cut the chicken into mysterious-looking, un-poultry-like pieces. Take our word for it. That's important in ways you don't want to know about.
