ART AUCTION AND FUNDRAISER. Dinnerware Contemporary Art Gallery. 135 E. Congress St. 792-4503. The preview gala party starts at 6:30 p.m. and bids open at 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 12. More than 80 contemporary artworks are on the block, including paintings, prints, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media and photographs, all donated by local artists. Stop by the gallery to preview the work this week from noon to 5 p.m. Admission to the auction costs $25 per person or $40 per couple. After the bids start, it's $15. Pick up auction or raffle tickets at the gallery.

BAZAAR DOMINGO. Tucson Museum of Art. 140 N. Main Ave. 624-2333. Show and sale of antique and contemporary art including Native American weavings, baskets, ceramics, jewelry, vintage Mexican and Spanish Colonial arts, Americana, paintings, furniture and cowboy material takes place on Sunday, October 13 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission costs $5.

CINEMA LA PLACITA OCTOBER SCREENINGS. La Placita Village. Broadway Boulevard and Church Street. The Apartment is the 1960 classic comedy starring Jack Lemon and screens on Thursday, October 10. Whatever Happened to Baby Jane is the 1962 thriller and screens on Thursday, October 17. The 1931 classic, Frankenstein, screens on Thursday, October 24. Screenings start at 7:30 p.m. $3 is the suggested donation.

FALL ART AND FASHION SHOW. Heart-Five. 61 E. Congress St. 903-0911. Christina Goral's Dreams out the Window includes windowpane art plus music by DJs Mark Roble and Kade Reid and a fall fashion show with trends from Zoe Boutique takes place on Thursday, October 10. GERMAN FILM SERIES. UA Modern Languages Auditorium. The Rabbit Is Me was made in 1965 to encourage open discussion about of East German society. Instead it was banned before its release and didn't reach theaters until 1989. The story follows the political and romantic life of a young woman. Free screening begins at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 10.

INTERNATIONAL ARTS SOCIETY FILMS. UA Modern Languages Auditorium. Les Enfants Du Paradis is Marcel Carne's 1945 classic shot at the end of WWII when France was still under German occupation. It's been interpreted as an epic romance and allegory of the occupation or as a sprawling yarn about Paris itself. Reissued on DVD from a new print, it screens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 11. NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN FEAST. San Xavier Plaza. 1959 San Xavier Road. The Fourth Annual Traditional Native American Indian Feast on Saturday, October 12, from 6 to 9 p.m., offers Native foods, comedy performance by Drew Lacapa, silent auction and presentation of two scholarships.
