MEET NANCY. UA Modern Languages Auditorium. Nancy Mairs, PH.D. from the UA English department, is featured in a video documentary at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9. This free screening of Nancy Mairs: Waist-High in the World has the titular character entertaining the viewer through a series of video vignettes, short readings and personal interviews.

Kessell as he speaks about the swells of Spanish exploration that rolled north from Mexico across the coasts and high deserts of the western borderlands. He signs copies of his book Spain the the Southwest: A Narrative History of Colonial New Mexico, Arizona, Texas and California. The event starts at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9. $6 regular admisstion, $5 for AHS members, $3 for students.
