ANIMAL ADOPTATHON. Bookman's on Ina. 3733 W. Ina Rd. 579-0303. F.A.I.R., the Foundation for Animals in Risk, holds a day-long adoptathon and provides information on becoming a foster volunteer on Saturday, March 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sisters in Crime presents a conference for mystery fans and writers with panel discussions, book signings, lunch and a reception with J.A. BIKE PATH DEDICATION. PCC West Campus. 2202 West Anklam Rd. In honor of Louis Carlos Bernal, PCC photo instructor and avid cyclist, a bike path and a scholarship have been developed. A ceremony and recpetion take place on Thursday, February 28 at 12:30 p.m. at the Northwest entrance near Greasewood Rd.

BRIDAL MARKET. Manning House. 450 W. Paseo Redondo. The Tucson Association of Wedding Professionals hosts a bridal market on the first Sunday of every month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Engaged couples can access all the information they need for planning their wedding. DEATH OF POE: NATURAL CAUSES OR MURDER?. Clues Unlimited. 123 S. Eastbourne Ave. 326-8533. Mysteries in History series continues with Professor Roger Nichols exploring whether the modern mystery writer was murdered like one of his characters on Friday, March 1. A recpetion starts at 6 p.m. at Clues Unlimited followed by the dinner/lecture held at the DoubleTree Hotel, Reid Park, at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $50 and benefit the UA's Department of History. HISTORIC TUCSON WALKING TOURS. Sosa-Carrillo-Fremont House. 151 South Granada Street. 520-622-0956. Walk in the footsteps of the pioneers as experienced guides dressed in Territorial costume lead you to more than 20 historic homes and sites through downtown Tucson. HOMELESS YOUTH FORUM FOR LGBT COMMUNITY. Wingspan Community Center. 300 E. Sixth St. Panel discussion explores the needs of kids who are homeless and lesbian, gay, bi or transgender on Thursday, February 28 at 7 p.m. The event is free.

HOT ROD MANIFESTO. Carbonbase Gallery. 101 W. Fifth St. 903-2695. Featuring the art of customizing in a one-day show on Saturday, March 2 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by a party at 9 p.m. at Vaudeville Cabaret (110 E. Congress) with music by Rodeo Queen, the Sintillators, the 440s.

HOUSEBUILDING TRIP TO NOGALES. Habitat for Humanity. Help a poor family build a home by volunteering your time and labor on Saturday, February 23. Group leaves from Nogales, AZ at 8:30 a.m. and continues to Nogales, Mexico. No experience is necessary. Conditions are primitive. Call Scott for details at 762-1910.

SHAKESPEARE MONOLOGUE COMPETITION. UA Laboratory Theatre. UA campus, southeast corner of Park Avenue and Speedway Boulevard. The annual free event is presented by the English Speaking Union and the School of Theater Arts on Saturday, March 2 at 9 a.m. Come hear students from Southern Arizona high schools compete.

YOUNG WOMEN'S SPEAK OUT. Pima County Tucson Women's Commission. 445 E. Speedway Blvd. A day for young women, ages 13 to 18, to discuss issues like dating, body image, self-defense, careers and more with their peers takes place on Saturday, March 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free.
