Opening This Week

ARIZONA ROSE THEATER COMPANY. Berger Performing Arts Center. 1200 W. Speedway Blvd. Triple Threat is a new musical, the third show of the 15th season with previews on Friday, February 9 and Saturday, February 10 and continuing through February 17. Show times are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets cost $10 for all seats for previews and $19 general, $17 students, seniors and military and $10 for children under 12 for regular shows.

DIRECTOR'S WORKSHOP LOOKING FOR ACTORS. Association of Independents in Video and Film. Good actors are needed to perform in video-taped scenes directed by workshop participants. Actors get the benefit of practicing for the camera and observing the entire workshop led by Jim Pasternak beginning on Friday, February 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday, February 16 and 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. $20 covers the workshop fee for actors. LIVE THEATER WORKSHOP. Live Theatre Workshop. 5317 E. Speedway Blvd. 327-4242. All My Sons, the Arthur Miller, Pulitzer Prize-winning play from 1947 about the Keller and Deever families, stars Bruce Bieszki. Opens on Friday, February 15 and Saturday, February 16 with previews and continues through March 17. Show times are 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays through Saturdays and at 3 p.m. on Sundays. MUSE. 516 N. Fifth Ave. Glory Box, offered by UApresents, features Tim Miller in his newest performance with shows at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 7 and at 8 p.m. on Friday, February 8. Continues Fridays and Saturdays through February 16. Tickets cost $25 general; $12.50 students; $20 UA staff. A free pre-performance lecture takes place at 6:45 on Thursday, February 7. O'MALLEY'S. 247 N. Fourth Ave. 623-8600. What Would Kevin Do? is a tribute and benefit for Tucson screenwriter/director/actor Kevin Teed who recently passed away. Teed was a founding member of the Oddvarks Comedy Improv Troupe. The performance starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 15 and 22. $10 is the suggested donation with all proceeds going to Wright Elementary School and Sparrow and Cicada Theater Works. The New Kiva Motions Puppet Theater presents shows every Sunday, with Esteban and the Seven Cities of Cibola, the story of the first black African man to enter Arizona, beginning on Sunday, February 10 at 1:30 p.m. Tickets cost $3 per person and $5 for two children, with discounts for low-income people. Jerry's Girls, presented by Music Theatre Arizona, features the lyrics and music of Broadway's Jerry Herman with shows on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and on Sundays at 2 p.m. through February 24. Desert Players Theater presents Night Must Fall, a murder mystery by Emlyn Williams opening with a preview on Thursday, February 7 at 8 p.m. Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. through February 17. C.H. MARA SUPPER CLUB OF MAGIC. Rose Garden Restaurant. 1800 E. Ft. Lowell Rd. Dine with an illusionist and experience magical effects from India, China and the lands of imagination including indoor snowstorms, escapes from a straitjacket and pouring streams of mysterious waters. Purchase of dinner gets you into the show which starts at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and 4 p.m. on Sundays through March 31. Buckskin, Satin and Song is Western musical theater for the whole family featuring cowboys, hard-to-tame women and a dance hall hostess, continuing through March 30. Shows are at 7 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays with a 3 p.m. matinee on March 10. Tickets cost $13.95 for adults, $8.95 for kids under 12. Dinner and show tickets are optional.

GASLIGHT THEATRE. 7010 E. Broadway Blvd. 886-9428. Melody of the Range, or Trigger Happy rides the range with singing cowboys of yesteryear, and plenty of two-fisted action and three-part harmonies. It continues through March 23. Showtimes are 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays, 9:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets cost $14.95 adults; $12.95 students, active military and seniors; and $6.95 children 12 and under.

UA MARRONEY THEATRE. 1025 N. Olive. 621-1162. Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill's The Threepenny Opera makes its Arizona Repertory Theater debut. Show times are 7:30 p.m. with a 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays through February 24. No show on Mondays. Tickets cost $22 general; $20 seniors and UA staff; $15 students; $13 previews.
