DINNERWARE CONTEMPORARY ART GALLERY. 135 E. Congress St. 792-4503. Telling Our Own Stories is a collaborative, silkscreen monoprint exhibit with members of Dinnerware and Raices/Taller 222 Gallery in the rear gallery; the front gallery features 11 Dinnerware members' work including paintings, drawings, sculpture and mixed media. The shows continue through February 9 with an opening reception on Saturday, January 26 from 7 to 9 p.m. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and until 9 p.m. on downtown Saturday Nights.

ETHERTON GALLERY. Etherton Gallery Downtown. 135 S. Sixth Ave. 624-7370. Holly Roberts' painted photographs, Bailey Doogan's recent paintings, Santiago's paintings and Joe Forkan's monoprints are featured in an exhibit opening Tuesday, January 29 and continuing through March 30. Opening reception is from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, February 2. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and noon to 7 p.m. Thursdays.

RAICES TALLER 222 GALLERY. 222 E. Sixth St. 881-5335. Small works by Raices Taller members Paco Ballesteros, Cristina Cardenas, Gonzalo Espinosa, Ceci Garcia and others plus guest artist Sonia Barr are exhibited Friday, January 4 with a reception from 1 to 5 pm. The show continues through February 2. Gallery hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

READY, SET, D'ART. Tucson Museum of Art. 140 N. Main Ave. 624-2333. This annual fundraiser offers patrons and artists a chance to meet and participate in festivities on Saturday, January 26 from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. More than 150 artists have donated work for the 300 ticket-holders to select and purchase. Tickets cost $325, which includes a buffet, wine bar and work of art. For details, call 229-0276.

TEMPLE GALLERY. Temple of Music and Art. 330 S. Scott Ave. 624-7370. Recent paintings by Michael Longstaff focus on traditional painting of media and modalities. Show opens with a reception on Friday, January 25 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and continues through February 27. THURSDAY NIGHT ARTWALK. Tucson Arts District Partnership. P.O. Box 3009. 624-9977. Meet at Carreras Studio at 15 E. Toole Ave. for a one-stop Artwalk featuring painting demonstrations in various media and discussion of different techniques by painter Mariana Carreras on Thursday, January 24 at 5 p.m. The tour lasts from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Space is limited. Slap Happy is an exhibition of video, installation and photography by UA professor Kenneth Shorr, and Toys in the Basement by Tucson artist Mark Murray features sculptures of found objects.
