Peter Iverson presents The Era of the Navajo Long Walk August 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. Iverson discusses the Navajo during the 1850s and '60s, illustrating the speed with which the U.S. government attempted to gain control of the people and their lands. Admission is $5 for society members, $6 for non-members and $3 for students with I.D. Funds raised from the series support educational programs for schools and the community.
