CLASSIC CAR SHOW. Little Anthony's Diner. 7010 E. Broadway Blvd. 296-0456. Enjoy a blast from the past with a rockin', rollin' car show July 7 from 7 to 10 p.m. There are trophies, prizes, free give-aways, a jumping air castle for the kids and food from Little Anthony's Diner. Enjoy an evening of be-bopping and sock-hopping entertainment. The show benefits local charity.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY LECTURE. Arizona Historical Society. 949 E. Second St. 628-5774. Historian James Turner presents The Pima and Maricopa Indians and the Forty-Niners July 11 at 7 p.m. Using diaries, memoirs, military records and sketches, Turner discusses the importance of the Pima and Maricopa tribes in providing Europeans with food and protection from hostile tribes along the Gila River in the late 1840s and early 1850s. Admission is $6 per lecture, $5 for Historical Society members and $3 for students with I.D. The entire series costs $30 for members, $36 for non-members and $18 for students. MOTORCYCLE SHOW. Kickstart Grill. 8987 E. Tanque Verde Road. Owners present bikes for inspection and judging for trophy awards on the first Friday of each month. Cyclists who wish to enter the contest should do so between 5:30 and 7 p.m. July 6. Bikes are judged in one of eight categories: American Big Twin, Foreign Cruiser, Tourer, Sportster, Sportbike, Classic, American and Foreign. All entries are on exhibit at 7 p.m. There is also live music by Tall Paul. Admission is free.

SUMMER CELEBRATION OF THE SPIRIT. Best Western Inn Suites. 6100 N. Oracle Road. 444-4766. This music, meditation and arts festival features music, dancing, storytelling, poetry and more July 8 from 1 to 4 p.m. There is a suggested $10 donation.

TUCSON HERITAGE BUS TOUR. Arizona Historical Society. 949 E. Second St. 628-5775. The Arizona Historical Society's bus tours take place the first Saturday of each month through December 1. The narrated tours, which visit Sentinel Peak, the Convento site, downtown Tucson, Barrio Viejo, the Presidio, Rio Nuevo and more, begin and end in front of the Historical Society Museum. Cost is $20 per adult and $10 per child 10 and younger. Call 628-5774 for reservations and more information.

ULTIMATE BARBEQUE. Hacienda del Sol. 5601 N. Hacienda del Sol Road. 575-0011. Executive chef Albert Hall reveals his best grilling secrets July 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Step away from oldstyle barbeque and into original Hacienda-style grilling techniques. Learn about woods, smoke, marinades and dry rubs, then sit down to a freshly prepared three-course lunch served with a specially paired wine. Cost is $50 per person, all inclusive. WINE TASTING CLASSES. Brew and Vine. 6435 N. Oracle Road at Orange Grove. 206-9463. This summer wine tasting series explores different wine styles, food and wine pairing, the hidden values in the world of wine and more. Each class begins with a sparkling-wine reception followed by a wine tasting and presentation with Zalman Berkowitz. The class is in session every Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and costs $25 per person.
