PARENTS' CORNER

CHILDREN TO CHILDREN. 3922 N. Mountain Ave. Children to Children is a grief support center for children and families who have experienced the death of someone they love. They provide support services in a caring environment and currently have space available in their groups. They are also looking for volunteers to become support group facilitators. PARENTS WITHOUT PARTNERS. 2447 N. Los Altos Blvd. 622-8120. Parents Without Partners, Inc., is an international, nonprofit organization dedicated to the entire single-parent family. It offers camp-outs, picnics, skating, meetings, potlucks, games, house parties, movies, hikes, volunteer and community service opportunities, and much more. Saturday night dances are held at 8 p.m. The next dance takes place May 19 and features a variety of DJ- played music. Admission is $4 for members and $5 for non-members. The dance takes place at 2447 N. Los Altos. Orientation for new members meets the second and fourth Wednesday of every month. Call 622-8120 for information.

VOLLEYBALL/BASKETBALL CAMPS. The Mike Pensinger Boys & Girls Basketball Camp and the Julie King Volleyball Camp offer two one-week sessions for youth 10-17 beginning June 4. Cost is $100 per session. The programs are designed to provide an opportunity for players of all abilities to develop individual and team skills in a positive supportive environment. ZOOBOT ADVENTURES. Tucson Botanical Gardens. 2150 N. Alvernon Way. 326-9686, ext. 10. Spend the morning with the animals at Reid Park Zoo, picnic at the Botanical Gardens and spend the afternoon exploring exotic plant life at the Botanical Gardens. In addition, there are fun indoor crafts to keep kids cool. The five-day, all-day camp takes place from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 11-15 for first and second graders, June 25-29 for second and third graders and July 16-20 for fourth and fifth graders. Cost of the camp is $170 for garden members and $180 for non-members.
