MUSIC & STORY HOUR. Antigone Books. 411 N. Fourth Ave. 792-3715. Tucson children's author Susan Lowell reads from her book Dusty Locks The Three Bears May 19 at 2 p.m. Music teacher Bruce Phillips leads a sing-along at 2:30 p.m. Phillips' cassettes are available for purchase (and signing!).

Bender reads from her new book Keeping a Journal You Love May 18 at 7 p.m. In addition, Bender discusses how to inspire flowing, incisive personal writing in your journal and shares entries by other professional writers who contributed to the book. The reading is followed by a question and answer period. Refreshments are also served.

PIMA WRITERS' WORKSHOP. PCC Community Campus. 401 N. Bonita Ave. 206-6084. Fourteen professional writers, editors and literary agents discuss writing and publishing May 25-27. Featured authors include novelist Robert Morgan, children's book author Shonto Begay, documentary and feature film maker Kathy Edon, science fiction writer Emma Bull and poet Judy Ray. In addition, literary agents from New York and San Francisco discuss agents and the publishing process.
