Tohono Chul Park is seeking art cars for a special event to be held in conjunction with its upcoming exhibit Re-Visions II, which features art made from recycled materials. An art car is a functioning vehicle that has been transformed into a work of art by the application of paint and/or a variety of objects. The event, Park after Dark, will take place May 24 from 5 to 8 p.m. to coincide with the exhibit's opening reception. The Greater Oro Valley Arts Council is hiring up to 10 artist apprentices for the 2001 Oro Valley Summer Youth Transportation Public Art Project. Apprentices will design and install tile mosaics on benches and retaining walls in the Oro Valley area and will receive $5.25 per hour.
