ARMEN DIRTADIAN. Gaslight Theatre. 7010 E. Broadway Blvd. 886-9428. On Broadway! is a nine-piece act including singer Dirtadian and the Mickey Greco Quartet. The groups performs show tunes from Fiddler on the Roof and Les Miserables, plus jazz standards and more April 9 at 7 p.m. Tickets range in price from $5 to $8. Dinner is available in the theater.

BELA FLECK AND THE FLECKTONES. TCC Music Hall. 260 S. Church Ave. Presented by In Concert! Grammy award-winning Fleck and friends perform acoustic and electric banjos April 5 at 8 p.m. Guest Jeff Coffin joins the group on various saxophones and flute. Tickets range from $15 to $25 and are available at Ticketmaster, the TCC, Robinson's-May stores and Hear's Music.

BRASS QUINTET. Tucson Symphony Center. 2175 N. Sixth Ave. The Tucson Symphony Brass Quintet performs at Silhouettes, the general membership meeting and luncheon of the Tucson Symphony Women's Association, April 9 at 11 a.m. Cost of the luncheon is $10. CELTIC TUNES. The Hut. 247 N. Fourth Ave. Tucson's favorite Celtic group The Molly's joins forces with the Seven Pipers Scottish Society Pipes and Drums for a unique musical event April 7 at 8 p.m. The show benefits the bagpipe band as it begins an ambitious effort to raise funds for a trip to Glasgow, Scotland to compete in the World Championship Bagpipe Band Competition. DESERT BLUEGRASS ASSOCIATION. Nimbus Brewery. 3850 E. 44th St. 745-9175. Bring an instrument and join in the jam or just sit back and enjoy the music April 9 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Admission is free. All are welcome.

DRUMMING CIRCLE. Unitarian Universalist Church. 4831 E. 22nd St. Drummers of all ages beat together on the third Friday of each month. The drumming circle takes place outdoors, weather permitting. Participants are urged to bring drums, rattles, bells, sticks and other instruments.

EL PUEBLO JAM. El Pueblo Neighborhood Center. 101 W. Irvington Road. 622-6973. All instruments, all ages, all kinds of music! All are welcome every Friday from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

FACULTY SERIES. Holsclaw Recital Hall in the UA music building, near the south end of the pedestrian underpass on Speedway Boulevard east of Park Avenue. The recital features classical works that have been influenced by jazz. Violinist Mark Rush and pianist Tannis Gibson begin with Stravinsky's Duo Concertante, a work from his Neoclassical period. The program also includes Ravel's Sonata and William Bolcom's Second Sonata. Tickets are $10 and are available by calling the UA Fine Arts box office at 621-1162.

FLUTE AND WHISTLE CONCERT. Temple of Music and Art. 330 S. Scott Ave. 790-3533, ext. 14. Joanie Madden, leader of the group Cherish the Ladies, performs a flute and whistle recital of traditional Irish music from jigs to reels to slow airs April 7 at 7 p.m. Madden is accompanied by harpist Mary Bouley. Tickets are $10 (half price for children 14 and younger) and are available at Folk Shop, Hear's Music and Harp & Shamrock.

GUITAR COMPETITION. Holsclaw Recital Hall, UA music building. 621-2998. Four finalists from the Norman Douglas Sholin Memorial Guitar Competition perform April 8 at 2:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Premier jazz violinist Carter melds Latin, African, funk and soul in a performance April 7 at 8 p.m. Tickets range in price from $16 to $28. There is a free Arts Encounter 45 minutes before the performance in Room 102 of the Center for English as a Second Language at 1100 E. North Campus Drive, just north of Centennial Hall.

RONSTADT COUSINS. Tohono Chul Park. 7366 N. Paseo del Norte. 742-6455. The trio performs music from the 1800s through the 1900s that includes classics and standards and Latin and folk April 12 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $4 for park members and $7 for non-members.

SONGWRITER SHOWCASE. Hazy Dayz Lounge Cafe. 187 N. Park Ave. Wendy McMurray performs spirited contemporary folk and country blues April 5 at 7:30 p.m. Also performing are Dave Porter and Bruce T. Campbell. Admission is free.

STEFAN GEORGE. Bookman's Northwest. 3733 W. Ina Road. 579-0303. The award-winning songwriter, vocalist and slide blues guitarist performs an eclectic blend of original and traditional tunes April 6 at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

TUCSON JAZZ SOCIETY. St. Philip's Plaza. Campbell Avenue and River Road. 903-1265. Bud Shank and David Friesen explore the intimate side of the standard jazz repertoire April 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $7 for members and $14 for non-members.

The ensemble concert, which features players from the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, performs Michael Fan's Love's Paradox, Maurice Ravel's Piano Trio and Franz Schubert's Piano Trio in E-flat April 8 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10.

The ensemble performs Mozart's String Quartet in G Major, K. 156 and The Terezin Collection by Kohn, Schul, Ledec and Domazlicky April 8 at 2 p.m. This latter string quartet was composed in the Terezin Concentration Camp and is accompanied by a slide show of Terezin children's art. On the last Tuesday of each month musicians may compete for the top honor of the evening. The winning musician is invited to participate in the Bookman's Open Mic Roundup for a cash prize of $250.
