Sponsored by UApresents, this Tony Award-winning musical highlights the work of legendary dancer, choreographer and director Bob Fosse. His Broadway hits include Sweet Charity, Chicago and Dancin', and his major films are Cabaret and All That Jazz. Performances run from March 27 to April 3. This musical, featuring lyrics by Academy Award-winning lyricist Leslie Bricusse and score by Grammy Award-nominated composer Frank Wildhorn, is an evocative tale of romance and the epic battle between good and evil. Performances run March 23-25 at 2 and 8 p.m. Tickets range from $26.50 to $35.50 and are available at the TCC box office and all Ticketmaster outlets. LISA KRON. International Arts Center. 516 N. Fifth Ave. 621-3341. Award-winning actor, author and performance artist Kron weaves together three stories in 2.5 Minute Ride. She includes a trip with her father, a Holocaust survivor, to Germany and Poland; the wedding of her brother to a woman he met on the Internet; and the annual family outing to an Ohio amusement park where the high point is a 2.5-minute roller coaster ride. It runs March 23-24 at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $35 and are available at the box office. There is a free "Arts Encounter" presentation 45 minutes before the performance. In addition, Ken Foster hosts an informal discussion with Kron about the inspiration behind her work in Unlocking the Creative Process March 22 at 7:30 p.m. The free event takes place in the UA Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering auditorium on the northeast corner of Speedway Boulevard and Mountain Avenue. Speedway Blvd. The company's Sunday Afternoon Children's Theatre Series presents The Firebird, a charming Russian folktale with magical creatures, a prince and princess. Scott Ave. Charles Busch's Psycho Beach Party exposes the darker comic side of the 1960s beach party movies, spoofing such films as Gidget and Beach Blanket Bingo. Angels in America is a sweeping, epic story that focuses on eight main characters--from married couples to gay lovers--as they deal with sex, religion, drugs, politics, life and death. Hoot, holler and stomp your feet with the Crystal Palace Players as they salute Broadway's bronco-bustin' showstoppers in a spur-studded revue about western-themed musicals. The Exact Center of the Universe is a comedy that tells the tale of a small-town Southern matriarch, Vada Love Powell, and what ensues when her much-beloved son selects a bride not to his mother's liking. Performances continue through March 25. Tickets range from $16 to $20. Additionally, watercolorist Deanna Thibault exhibits her work in celebration of the theater's 30-year history. The lobby exhibit continues throughout the play's run. NEW KIVA MOTIONS PUPPET THEATRE. Red Barn Theatre. 948 N. Main Ave. 887-5144. The theater presents Coyote Stories, a bilingual collection of three Southwestern folktales (Mexican, Anglo/cowboy and Tohono O'odahm) throughout the month of March. After the show kids may get up close and personal with the puppets and the audience gets a chance to make a puppet to take home. There are performances every Sunday at 1:30 p.m. A performance of Punk and Judy, for adults only, takes place March 31 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $3 per person, $5 for two children, and $2 per person with AHCCCS card or low-income bus pass. Gaslight Theatre. 7010 E. Broadway Blvd. Zerro Rides Again or Arrest for the Wicked, written and directed by Peter Van Slyke with musical direction by Lisa Otey, runs through March 24. Don Diego joins the battle for liberty and justice in his beloved Capistrano while hiding his identity under black cape and mask. Join him as he finds romance and adventure as El Zerro.
