The hospice seeks volunteers to work two to four hours each week in its offices or in support of those living with terminal illness. The Arizona International Film Festival is looking for new and innovative independent works to be part of the Reel Frontier Film and Video Competition. Film and video submissions are being accepted through February 12 in the categories of narrative and documentary features, documentary shorts, and narrative, experimental and animation shorts. Submissions must be an Arizona premiere and must have been completed between January 2000 and February 2001. Finalists in the Reel Frontier will be screened during the 2001 Arizona International Film Festival scheduled for April 19-29 at the Screening Room. Awards are presented to the best in each category, and "Best of Arizona." Entry fees are $50 for works that are 45 minutes and over and $30 for those under 45 minutes. Entries must be submitted on half-inch VHS for pre-screening. For festival screenings, finalists will be presented in 35mm or 16mm film formats or half-inch, 3/4-inch, Beta-SP and digital video formats.
