This has to be a special category, because few food items raise passions to this level in otherwise-polite conversation. Some guys love eegee's fries; others wouldn't eat them off of Jennifer Lopez's bare midriff. McDonald's fries get generally high marks, but some purists still resent McD's elimination of beef fat in the French fry grease lo those many years ago. Some people rave about Coffee, Etc.'s horizontally sliced, chip-shaped fries, while others argue that they don't belong in this category.
