BOTANICAL CAMPS. Tucson Botanical Gardens. 2150 N. Alvernon Way. 326-9686, ext. 10. Children grades 1 through 5 can explore Critters in the Garden, Zoobot Adventures, Creatures of the Night and Wild and Wacky Plants during Tucson Botanical Gardens' four- and five-day camps, continuing through August 11. Registration ranges from $55 to $140, with discounts available to TBG members.

MUSEUM DISCOVERY SUMMER CAMP. Kids 7 through 12 can discover the mysteries of history during the Arizona Historical Society's Museum Discovery Camp. This hands-on history camp offers opportunities to learn about the past, visit local historic sites and understand the Old West. Enroll in full days from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ($110 per week); or half-days from 8 a.m. to noon, or 1 to 5 p.m. ($64 per week). Camp runs through August 11. SUMMER MINI-CAMPS. Tucson Children's Museum. 200 S. Sixth Ave. The Museum offers "mini-camps" such as Science Potions, Dinosaur Discovery and Ice Camp, among others, for children 6 through 11. Classes meet from 9 a.m. to noon Thursdays and Fridays in June and July. Admission is $15 per session, or $12 for multiple sessions. Puppet Making, Parachute Games and Popsicle Fun are offered for children 3 to 6 (accompanied by an adult), and meet from 10 to 11:30 a.m. each Wednesday in July. TMA SUMMER CLASSES. The TMA offers a variety of one- and two-week-long classes continuing through August 4. Kids 5 through 12 can exercise their creativity and imagination in one-week classes such as The World Outside My Window, Matter of Matisse and Creature Within. Parents' Corner
CHILDREN TO CHILDREN. 3922 N. Mountain Ave. Children to Children is a grief support center for children and families who have experienced the death of someone they love. They provide support services in a caring environment and currently have space available in their groups. They are also looking for volunteers to become support group facilitators. FAMILY COUNSELING AGENCY. The agency and its Ways to Work program offers an opportunity to acquire low interest loans for low-income, working parents. Loan money can be used for car purchases, repairs, housing costs, child care and other essential purposes. For information, call the Family Counseling Agency at 327-4583.
PARENTING 101. Compass Health Care. 1230 E. Broadway Blvd. Compass Health Care presents the following free classes to give families an informed edge: BASICS (Building A Strong Independent Child) provides classes, activities, discussion and support for parents and their children, infancy through adolescence, with the goal of learning to help children become healthy, substance-free, caring individuals. Family class meets from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays. Ongoing parent cycles of the curriculum, Discovering Normal, meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays. PARENTING SUPPORT. The Give A Parent Support Group (G.A.P.S.) needs mentors to make home visits to first-time moms. Participants should be experienced, loving parents with the ability to donate one to two hours per week. Training and on-going support for volunteers is provided. PARENTS WITHOUT PARTNERS. Parents Without Partners, Inc., is an international, nonprofit organization dedicated to the entire single-parent family. They offer Saturday night dances, camp-outs, picnics, skating, meetings, potlucks, games, house parties, movies, hikes, volunteer and community service opportunities, and much more.
