Mount Lemmon's Incinerator Ridge

STAFF PICK: How fortunate we are to have an escape hatch from summer's heat so close at hand. Our very own sky island in the Santa Catalina Mountains beckons to the singed masses sprawled on the valley floor below. Strange, indeed, to include in the list of cooling retreats along the pine-scented Catalina Highway a place called Incinerator Ridge. We would submit that the time has come to rename this maligned mountain getaway.
