MONSOON MADNESS. This weekly outdoor music showcase continues its fourth season on Thursday, July 22, with Ravens Omen. The band gets under way at 7 p.m. at Winsett Park, 316 N. Fourth Ave.

DESERT BLUEGRASS JAM. The Desert Bluegrass Association holds three jam sessions this week. The first is at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at Pizza Hut, 2943 N. Campbell Ave.; the second is at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 26, at Hidden Valley Inn, 4825 N. Sabino Canyon Road; and the third is at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at Schlotzky's Deli, 3025 E. Speedway Blvd. Play, sing along, or just listen. All are welcome.

STRING PLAYERS WANTED. The Civic Orchestra of Tucson, a 60-piece volunteer symphony orchestra starting its 24th season, needs violin, viola, cello, and especially bass players. Come to a rehearsal and get acquainted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the Tucson Jewish Community Center. Call the director, Dr. Kreloff, at 325-3002 for information or to audition.
