GILA MONSTER HOCKEY. Tucson begins the '98-'99 WCHL season on October 16 in Anchorage. The first home game is October 23 against the Phoenix Mustangs. Call the Gila Monsters' office at 903-9000 for ticket information.

TUCSON ORIENTEERING CLUB. Get a clue about what you can do with a map and compass. A beginner's clinic covering the basics of the sport is offered at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 18 at the Empire Ranch off Route 83. ULTIMATE FRISBEE. The Tucson Ultimate Frisbee Club announces free, co-ed pick-up games at Himmel Park, starting about two hours before sunset every Sunday. They also organize leagues and tournaments throughout the year, and there's a club at the UA for students. All skill levels are welcome.
