ARTS CAMP. Third St. Kids summer day-camp is filled with dance, drama, stagecraft, games, fine art and more. Camp hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 2 through August 1. Third St. Kids is a non-profit group providing performing arts opportunities for children with and without disabilities. Some financial assistance is available. CAMP VOLUNTEERS. The Muscular Dystrophy Association needs volunteer counselors to act as companions to campers during summer camp, June 15 through 21. CHORUS CAMP. The Tucson Girls Chorus announces its Summer Fine Arts Camp for boys and girls, grades first through six. Classes in writing and producing an original opera, art, musical theater, singing, movement, and arts and crafts run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 2 through June 20; and June 23 through July 11. TEE TIME. The Tucson Conquistadors present Junior Golf Rules and Etiquette Clinics through June 8. Clinics are free to golfers under 18 years of age, and are a prerequisite for the Junior Golf Program. SUMMER ON STAGE. The Arizona Theatre Company is offering a five-week intensive theatre arts workshop for high school students. Program runs July 7 through August 8 at the Temple of Music and Art, 330 S. Scott Ave. Areas of focus include movement for the theatre, character development, and production. Instruction is provided by ATC pros, guest artists and UA graduate students. The program concludes with performances August 7 and 8. Cost is $495, with some partial scholarships available. TIME TO GROW. The Pima County Extension center announces the Kids and Plants Grow summer day-camp, for kids grades 4 through 8. Start dates for the two, one-week sessions are July 14 and 21. Kids will participate in a number of hands-on gardening activities, including planting a garden plot, making a terrarium, and rooting plants from cuttings. Classes run from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. Cost is $25 per one week session. Call Francine at 626-5161 for registration and information.
