CARIBBEAN FESTIVAL. The Hispanic Cultural Showcase of Tucson presents the Festival of Caribbean Music and Dance May 10 and 11 in El Presidio Park, downtown. These two evenings will be filled with entertainment by Aché Pa Ti, Cool Breeze, El Saguaro Band, Bobby Soto's Recuerdo Band, and others. Dance groups Ballet Folklórico Paloma, Folklórico de Nicaragua, and Folklórico de Panamá also perform. There will be plenty of delicious food and drink available. These free events run from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, and from 5:45 to 10 p.m. Sunday. Call 623-1000 for information.

PHARIE TALES. The George Phar Legler Society presents favorite fairy tale characters, as only the Valley of the Moon players can portray them, in Phractured Pharie Tales, continuing May 8 through 11. This special fundraising show will run every 30 minutes from 7:30 until 9:30 p.m. Admission is $5, $3 for kids, and free for moon walkers under age 7. The Valley of the Moon is located at 2544 E. Allen Road, just north of Prince Road and east of Tucson Boulevard. Call 323-1331 for information.

MOTHER'S DAY FIESTA. The Holy Trinity Monastery in St. David celebrates the 23rd annual Mother's Day Fiesta de la Primavera on May 10 and 11. Event includes arts and crafts booths, live music and dancing, and a wide variety of delicious foods. Festivities run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The Holy Trinity Monastery is two miles south of St. David on Highway 80, between mileposts 302 and 303. Call Frank at 1-520-720-4642 for information.
