[Cheap Thrills]

ART WALK: This free, self-guided tour of downtown art spaces is put on monthly by the Arts District Partnership. Two of our favorite combinations are Etherton Gallery, conveniently located upstairs from B&B Café on Sixth Avenue and Broadway, and the Phantom Gallery showcases on Congress and Pennington streets, a short hop from the recently revamped Grill on Congress Street. Stretch your legs and imagination from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 27. Call 624-9977 for a map and listings of spaces to visit.

DANCE SHOWCASE: Pima Community College Dance Ensemble presents this Showcase of Spring Dances, modern dance choreographed and performed by PCC students, with a wide range of dance and musical styles including an original guitar composition. Performance is at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 28, at the PCC Center for the Arts Proscenium Theatre, 2202 W. Anklam Road. A $5 donation at the door is suggested.

SUITE JAZZ MUSIC: The Plaza Suite Jazz Concert Series continues at St. Philip's Plaza at Campbell Avenue and River Road. Performances this week include the infectious blues-based tunes of the Mose Allison Trio, performing under the stars from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 29. Tickets are only $3 for TJS members, $7 for nonmembers.

SKY'S THE LIMIT: Tucson International Airport's Aviation Day happens from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the ever-popular "nickel-a-pound" airplane rides until noon. Arrive early for smoother takeoffs. Defy gravity with skydivers, helicopters and hot-air balloon rides. For those with more pedestrian tastes, tour the antique, military and homebuilt aircraft displays, control tower, airfield and weather station. Join the fun at the base of the control tower, 7081 S. Plummer Ave. Parking and admission are free. Call 573-8100 for information.
