SUMMER SCIENCE FUN. The University of Arizona's Flandrau Science Center is offering fun and educational summer science workshops for children who have completed grades six through eight. Summer workshops include: Webs, Wires & Waves, a look at the science of communication technology, runs from June 2 through June 6, cost is $60; Looking at Astronomy explores the universe of planets, stars, and galaxies, and runs from June 9 through June 20, cost is $120; Fun With Physics gives kids a chance to experiment with electricity, conduct demonstrations with liquid nitrogen and more. It runs from June 23 through June 27, and cost is $60; and Lasers and Holography investigates laser light and creating holograms. This class runs from June 30 through July 3, call for cost. SUMMER EMPLOYMENT. Applications for the Summer Youth Employment and Education Program are now being accepted. Youth between the ages of 16 and 21 are eligible to apply for both employment and educational opportunities over the summer. Earn a minimum of $4.75 per hour, or an equivalent stipend. Pearce will conduct a lecture on Educating the Whole Child: Head, Heart and Hands from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 11. Cost is $10. Pearce will also conduct a workshop for parents and child-educators entitled Awakening the Intelligence of the Heart from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 12. Cost is $30. CHILDREN TO CHILDREN. Children to Children is a grief support center for children and their families who have experienced the death of someone they love. They offer support services in a caring environment and currently have space available in their groups. Call 322-9155 for information.
