GARDENING BOTANICAL GARDENS. The Tucson Botanical Gardens, 2150 N. Alvernon Way, are open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The TBG nursery is open from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Saturday. Guided tours of the gardens are at 10 a.m. Wednesday and Saturday. Regular attractions include Birds and Gardening tours at 9 a.m. Tuesday; Gardening for the Newcomer from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. the first Thursday and third Saturday of the month; the Native Seeds/SEARCH mini-museum of ethnobotanical displays, open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; and the TBG library, open from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. GET SMART. The Pima County Cooperative Extension's "Low 4 Program," in cooperation with Tucson Water, presents a series of free Watersmart Workshops beginning Saturday, February 22. From 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., learn more about Drip Irrigation Design and Installation. Irrigation Timer Use takes center stage from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and the day concludes from 2 to 4 p.m. with Plant Selection and Design. Participants may register for one or all sessions.
