Continuing through February 23: Beauty and the Bead: The Many Facets of Beadwork and Pure Color, a combined exhibition featuring works by members of the Tucson Bead Society. Continuing through February 29: La Raza: Diversity and Identity in Mexican and Mexican American Art, an exploration of the cultural contributions of Mexican artists from both sides of the border. Reina Prado of the UA Mexican American Studies and Research Center and UA art history graduate student Gretchen Gibbs present a free lecture from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, February 14 on the Los Angeles studio Self-Help Graphics, which produces public art in the form of prints and posters. Continuing through March 10: Robert Beckman: The Body of a House, featuring eight large paintings detailing the 2.3 seconds of a house's destruction during the 1953 nuclear bomb test in Nevada. Beckman discusses his work at 12:15 p.m. Monday, February 12. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Closed on Saturdays and UA holidays. Admission is free.

VISUAL ARTS LECTURE. PCC Center for the Arts and PCC Art Gallery presents The Visual Artist Lecture Series at the PCC West Campus Center for the Arts Recital Hall, 2202 W. Anklam Road. Tucson abstract painter Jim Waid opens the series with a free slide lecture of his work at 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 13.

ARTS AND CRAFTS FAIR. Tucson Parks and Recreation hosts the Reid Park Arts and Crafts Fair from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, February 11, at Reid Park, 22nd Street and Country Club Road. Hundreds of artisans will show and sell their handcrafted works and food venders will share a variety of ethnic delights. Free parking and shuttle service from Hi Corbett Field parking lot. NON-PROFIT GRANTS. The Tucson/Pima Arts Council, 240 N. Stone Ave., has grants available for non-profit organizations whose primary focus is to provide arts programs to the Tucson area.
