Special guests Hans Olson and Rainer open the show at 8 p.m. Friday, January 26. Phelps is best known for his raspy vocals and expressive lap-slide steel guitar playing. This new performance series is dedicated to performing multi-cultural and multi-media works. Native American flutist Carlos Nakai joins the group in its debut performance. The Bobs' repertoire spans the spectrum, from originals to Jimi Hendrix. Partial proceeds benefit Third Street Kids, a non-profit organization teaching performing arts to children with disabilities. Categories include: alternative blues, country, contemporary Christian, gospel, metal/hard rock, pop/rock, singer/songwriter and urban/R&B. MUSICIANS NEEDED. The Foothills Phil, conducted by Laszlo Veres, seek new members for the winter/spring season. Rehearsals are from 6:45 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, beginning January 25, at Catalina Foothills High School Band Room, 4300 E. Sunrise Drive. This inter-generation orchestra is open to all musicians. Auditions are not required, but there is a $25 registration fee.

AUDITION NOTICE. The Arizona Repertory Singers, an a cappella adult choir, hosts auditions for tenors, baritones and basses Tuesday evenings throughout January.
