Learn about the role of the Mormon Battalion and the historic Rillito River community of Binghampton in the history of Tucson's development, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9; free. Duane Bingham, a descendant of Binghampton's founders gives presentations about the settlement's history; Randy and Kathy Madsen tell the story of the Mormon Battalion. The event also features demonstrations of rope-making and lassoing, frontier games and crafts for children, a kids' rodeo, doll-making, cowboy poetry, spinning and hand weaving, family history experts, a mining demonstration and music throughout the day, including the Fourth Regiment Cavalry Band.
