The Ballad of Arizona

Historians, musicians, scholars, videographers and storytellers create a multimedia event at 7 p.m., Saturday, June 29; free. In a format similar to that of A Prairie Home Companion, the program features videos, songs and stories that represent the character of the Grand Canyon State, including why the rodeo is important to Native communities, the Thoreau-like output of forester Aldo Leopold, Miami High School's improbable 1951 state basketball championship and the story of the Codetalkers told by a Navajo poet.
