Thanksgiving in the Barrio

For 16 years, Luz Social Services has organized a Thanksgiving feast with additional community resources, and this year it takes place Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at El Pueblo Center, 101 W. Irvington Road. Each year the event hosts close to 2,000 people. Besides the meal, there will be a community health and resource fair with information regarding topics such as housing and health and behavioral health, plus live entertainment and raffles. Online donations are being accepted at www.luzsocialservices.org. For more info, call Mary Ornelas or Raul Bueno at 294-7620 or email mornelas@luzsocial.com or raul@luzsocial.com.
