Where do you go in the Sonoran Desert for smoked whitefish or matzo brei? Head on over to Shlomo and Vito’s, which is more of a restaurant than a true deli; there’s a full dinner menu in addition to an assortment of deli offerings. Desserts are made in-house. The portions are huge, and the patio offers views you can’t get in the Big Apple. There are Italian faves as well, but stick to the Jewish side of the menu. (6-19-08)
