Scott Kardel of the International Dark-Sky Association presents a look at the night sky, a discussion about its importance to the state, and an overview of the problems of light pollution, at noon and 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 15; free. Reservations are required, but must be made no earlier than one week in advance; call between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday; or from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday.
