A Trophy Wife

East Tanque Verde Road and North Tanque Verde Loop Road, April 10

A Tucson man told deputies that he believes his estranged wife--who was allegedly deported for stealing babies--vandalized his house and damaged his computer, clothes and other personal items, a Pima County Sheriff's Department report stated.

The man said his 29-year-old wife called him and told him that he should go home and look inside his house, because she broke every item inside. When the man returned to his house, he reportedly noticed that his clothes, shower curtain and boots had been slashed with a knife. His computer and business ledger were also damaged, and food had been strewn across the kitchen floor, the man told Deputy E.M. Gustafson.

The man said his wife was deported after he reported her to the FBI about a year ago for stealing babies from Mexico. He said he doesn't know where she is, but he thought she might be staying with a friend.

Deputy Gustafson took photographs of the damages and told the man to call the police if he sees her. Gustafson also recommended the man change his locks.

Bathtubs and 40 Ouncers

Orange Grove Road and North La Canada Drive, April 12, 6:44 a.m.

According to a PCSD report, deputies arrested a woman after she flooded her apartments--as well as two neighboring residences--when she drank alcohol and forgot to turn her bathtub faucet off.

Deputy M.M Jaramillo arrested Joan E. Gislason, 34, who lives in the 6300 block of North Barcelona Lane, after she reportedly admitted that she and her boyfriend shared some 40-ounce bottles of beer before she drew a bath for her husband--and fell asleep before turning off the faucet.

Gislason said the alcohol may have affected her judgment, but that the medication she had been taking for a hair-pulling problem probably didn't affect her judgment.

One of the neighbors whose apartment was flooded told deputies that the last time Gislason left the tub running, the insurance company had to pay $14,000 to repair the water damage.

According to the report, deputies had been to the apartment complex three or four times previously for flooding incidents caused by Gislason, but they didn't charge her because they thought she might have a medical condition that affected her decision-making.

Deputies now believe that she knowingly left the tub running and knew it would leak water into the apartments below her.

She was arrested and taken to Pima County Jail on suspicion of criminal damage.

Reach Out and Touch Yourself

University Area, April 21, 2:32 p.m.

A man who called a UA employee and claimed to be conducting a human sexuality survey for Columbia University sounded similar to a man who called a year ago--and said he was masturbating while talking to her on the phone--a University of Arizona Police Department report stated.

The employee said she recognized the caller's voice from a year ago, when he called and asked about the employee's marital status before speaking to her lewdly and telling her that he was masturbating.

The employee told Deputy Pickrom she didn't report the incident last year, but believes the same caller may have caused a student employee to quit last month.

The employee gave Pickrom the phone number that appeared on her caller ID when she received the last lascivious call.
