Deputies arrested a Tucson man after he allegedly threw candy at his wife's face and grabbed her shirt collar inside of their sport-utility vehicle, a Pima County Sheriff's Department report stated.
The woman told Deputy Alexander Tisch that she and her husband were in their SUV outside of Safeway, 6500 S. Cardinal Ave., when her husband threw two or three pieces of Hershey's Cookies and Cream candy at her face in an attempt to incite a fight.
Her husband refused to answer any questions after deputies put him in handcuffs, but his brother, who was also in the vehicle, told deputies that the husband did throw the candies.
He was arrested and taken to Pima County Jail on suspicion of domestic violence.
School Bus Shenanigans
South Alvernon Way and East Los Reales Road, Dec. 9, 8 a.m.
According to a Pima County Sheriff's Department report, a middle school student allegedly threw a soda can out the school bus window, striking another motorist's side mirror and making small scratches on the driver's forearm.
The motorist was near South Swan and East Los Reales Road when the school bus passed him and he saw his mirror explode and felt his left forearm being showered with the broken glass and a sticky liquid. The motorist followed the bus to Chaparral Middle School, 7301 S. Alvernon Way, called police and confronted the bus driver about the situation.
One student told police that he was resting the soda can on the bus' windowsill when it fell out the window. He later told police that he threw the can out the window, intentionally striking another vehicle, after he got upset when he spilled some of the soda on himself.
The school nurse treated the motorist while the student's father drove to the school.
The father signed a document promising to appear in court.
UAPD's Backyard
University Area, Dec. 15 1:43 a.m.
A Tucson man was beaten up outside of the University of Arizona Police Department after he had been "running his mouth" at a local bar, a UAPD report stated.
The man left the Chicago Bar and was westbound on East Speedway Boulevard near North Alvernon Way when he noticed two teenage men in a car following him.
The teenagers followed the man into the UAPD parking lot, 1852 E. First St. When the man got out of his car, they began to beat him in the face with an unknown hard object.
Officer Lollar noticed that the man's shirt, jacket, heads and hands were covered in blood.
The man told police that he didn't know the teenagers' identity, but said the incident started at the Chicago Bar after the victim admitted to "running his mouth."
The man was taken to the University Medical Center, and the Tucson Fire Department cleaned the blood off parking lot blacktop.
Police have no suspects at this time.
