Play-in-a-Day is an annual event in which six plays are written, cast and performed in less than 24 hours. Cash prizes and audience participation are involved. A showcase of short plays is presented at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 7. Overnight, pairs of playwrights create 10-minute plays; scripts are due at dawn. Directors arrive, and actors are chosen to work with the playwrights until the new plays are presented at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8. $7 per night; $12 for both plays.
