On the Cusp: Time to Rant

We're exhausted here at The Weekly. You'll see why next week.

It's a good exhaustion; that's all I will say for now. And further goodness comes from the fact that we've channeled the normally negative effects of exhaustion--the frustration, the crankiness, the bitchiness--into something productive: The Rant Issue.

This is the second installment of what looks like it will be an annual Weekly feature. The concept, admittedly borrowed from other like-minded newspapers, is simple: We find something annoying, or stupid, or bothersome, and we go off on it.

The exercise serves several useful purposes. It gives us Weekly folks a chance to vent frustrations in a fun, unique way. And, more importantly, our readers usually relate to these rants--thereby allowing our readers to vent a little, too.

It's like a cheap, easy, city-wide form of therapy.

And the rants are accompanied by hilariously apt cartoons from contributor Wes Hargis.

Oh, and be sure to pick up The Weekly first thing next Thursday. It's something to look forward to.
